What it's like to be drawing in front of people. Easily. As though my brain can actually think two thoughts at the same time.

Not really possible. But I enjoy what comes out, and just deal with it. I keep responding to whatever happens. Or

Or I just let it be. With as much Surprise as the audience.

Perhaps you can understand it by what happened with this sign. My client was The Liquor Store. They paid me to draw at their Special Event. But I quickly realized that the store's customers thought Caricatures were just one more thing that they could buy there. So I decided to quickly make a sign to let them know that it was Free for them.

And look at what happened. A Happy Accident of Poetry because the girl that I had just drawn was still talking with me while I was making the sign. Sometimes lalala's happen in the Artwork, sometimes in the Conversation. It's all part of the Experience.

Did you catch it? Did you see that the sign says "Caricatrue instead of the Caricature that I had planned to write?

A simple Party. For alumni at a local College. I chose to keep the Caricatures mild that night, and apparently I made the right choice for Entertaining these people. They had such a good time with it. That's important to me. I feel like Parties are created with the intention of bringing such moments of Joy to people.

Oh My Goodness. I had to laugh. I was actually setting up to draw at a Holiday Party where the Staff looped this video for over half an hour (an hour?) while we set up for the Holiday Party. It's even labeled right on the screen that this is a Quote "Ten Minute Annoyance" Unquote. Lol ~ Since they played it more than once (some people might have even stopped the video Before it was finished?), I really thought they were going to continue it throughout the entire Party. It must have taken an unusual skill to make that video, to figure out what would be the Most Annoying video. I felt amazed that this could be done.

Aw heck ~ This is the sort of picture that I like to SEE. It's Fun. Not boring. Not studious. It's what I would want to HAVE. (One of them is a picture I drew of Myself ~ Do You know which one it is?)

But it's actually more fun to DRAW the plainer pictures at Events ~ like the picture I posted yesterday. Not stressful. It's Fun to make beautiful strokes. Especially if it's with a Juicy Marker (or paint). No need to Play with what I see to draw those tamer pictures.

When people are Paying me by the hour, I don't have enough time to actually Enjoy the Playing. So it feels less stressful to give the people the beautiful strokes. So I don't mind if they do or don't appreciate the Real Art that goes into the wild exaggerations. I like to DO Both things. I like to Play and exaggerate. And I also like to Relax and Doodle with Purpose. And most of all, I like to make people Happy.
