I figured out that I can only draw One way at one time, just like I can only do One activity at one time. I can't 'add a little exaggeration' to my pretty stuff, and I can't 'tone down' my wilder Caricatures.

Like meditating or jogging. I guess we could mix the two activities. But we lose some of the benefits of each individual activity if we're trying to do more than one activity at the same time. And we lose some of the power each type of Caricature if we're trying to do both both styles of drawing at the same time.

One approach throughout the Party. It's an Activity that I'm doing. 'I'm drawing pretty stuff' is a completely different Activity than 'I'm drawing exaggerated stuff. Just like Meditating is a completely different Activity than Jogging. Can't Jog for 3 minutes, then meditate for 2 minutes, then meditate for 5 minutes, then jog for 4 minutes......

Note to Self: Choose which approach for the Party. Stick with it. ....... Only change IF IT HAPPENS NATURALLY, and then Stick with That.

Here are some Caricatures that I drew at home tonight. Based on photos of people that I previously drew At Parties. I redrew them to practice drawing 'less cartoony'. Because I had had a request to draw 'less cartoony' at an upcoming Party. Why anyone would want a toned-down Party beats me, but I enjoy drawing them this way too. If that's what they want.....

Client from a Party where I drew Caricatures last weekend. She sent me the following email. Aaaah. Something good in our day:

Quote "Thank you so much!You were the hit of the party!I make an album for my children after every important event.  I am just trying to keep the memories of their family alive for them.  I am so impressed by how you were able to capture so much personality in each sketch!  Thanks so much again." Then, several days later, I even heard from this Client again! She emailed me:

Quote "Thanks so much for your help! We enjoyed your beautiful art so much. You captured everyone’s spirit so perfectly." UnQuote

Party ~ Joy ~ These are the parts of life to develop. These are the parts of life to give our energy and attention.

and what to Draw when I want to keep things moving at an Event ~ I don't want to double the time for each picture by drawing Both the Caricature And the Face Painting. So I just get through it quickly.

and voila! I feel so pleased that this super quick Caricature would actually have good impact afterall. A quick reference to the facepainting into the Caricature, and I feel like the recipient would relate to the picture. Because it is Him. He was there. and i feel like this Caricature would inspire the recipient long after the event. Yes Indeed. Artwork with purpose
