I figured out that I can only draw One way at one time, just like I can only do One activity at one time. I can't 'add a little exaggeration' to my pretty stuff, and I can't 'tone down' my wilder Caricatures.
Like meditating or jogging. I guess we could mix the two activities. But we lose some of the benefits of each individual activity if we're trying to do more than one activity at the same time. And we lose some of the power each type of Caricature if we're trying to do both both styles of drawing at the same time.
One approach throughout the Party. It's an Activity that I'm doing. 'I'm drawing pretty stuff' is a completely different Activity than 'I'm drawing exaggerated stuff. Just like Meditating is a completely different Activity than Jogging. Can't Jog for 3 minutes, then meditate for 2 minutes, then meditate for 5 minutes, then jog for 4 minutes......
Note to Self: Choose which approach for the Party. Stick with it.
....... Only change IF IT HAPPENS NATURALLY, and then Stick with That.

During this Party, the Guest's attention was turned to the Video Presentation while I was still supposed to be drawing Caricatures. That's not an unusual thing to happen ~ so many important things go on during a Party. But I'm there to Draw.
Some of that other stuff can slow me down, but I keep on keepin on. Even like this time, when the room suddenly got dark. It's a good chance to draw some candid expressions.

I still do get some in-person Party work these days. I arrive with my regular Party spirit. Energy. Ready for a Party! But the Parties feel different. The People aren't sure about what they can do. Because of the Corona Virus situation.
We had a great time ~ As usual, I get some great reactions to my Party Caricatures. But sometimes it feels like a swimming pool in a desert. What's happening to people? I wonder most about the people who don't even get out to these small Parties. What will happen to them? Will they remember how to Celebrate? Will they remember this type of Shared Fun?
