Can you understand ??
This picture is okay, not the greatest,
but I'm all excited with it.
It's a very important piece.
It marks a turning point in my development
as a Caricaturist, as a real Artist
who doesn't just copy the world.
It's a picture of Klaas OpDeBeek, an Artist from Belgium.
The first photo shows him holding the picture that I drew. It's okay:
Then the picture was hanging around on my floor before mailing it to him.
And one day, not trying, no effort, an Idea (Eureka!) came to me.
Those narrow cheeks with that big noticeable mouth --
I COULD TUCK THE CHEEKS INTO A BOWL OF THE MOUTH !
I was thinking outside of the box.
Hadn't seen that done anywhere else

way to portray my idea. Now I'm just fiddling around with it:

I'll post some pictures taken from a recent t-shirt gig. What you'll see is mostly pictures of guests holding up the tshirt while it's still on the drawing board. Finished my scheduled drawing time at the same time that the party was over So I couldn't get the good photos of the guests playing/dancing in their tshirts. It looked great. Dancing Caricatures.

It's not unusual for newspapers to do stories at my gigs. But it is unusual for me to get to see them.
I was so lucky that my client from the Harry Potter gig sent me the section of the Morris County (NJ) Daily Record that showed a picture of my work:
Barnes & Noble had hired me for first night that the new Harry Potter book would be available. And the line of people wanting Caricatures to remember this special night - it started in the middle of the huge store where I was stationed, extended back to one wall, and then continued all around the store! They were in costumes. The excitement was contagious. Wow!
