When I'm in Manhattan, it's not unusual that I'll have wait-time in Subway Stations and at the Long Island Railroad. So I draw Caricatures to entertain myself. Of course, I can't just look right at people in this situation, so I just grab a quick glance here and there.
I did most of these with only one marker. In the waiting room at the LIRR. And on the train ride home.
I enjoy my time off. No pressure.

On my way to a recent gig, I passed some of my absolute Favorite NYC Sculptures. This one, so unassuming, it immortalizes the humble. Called the Garment Worker.
And I love the way a real solid Pole represents a tiny little Sewing Needle in the Button and Needle Sculpture. So you can imagine how disappointed I feel when I see that they ruined the impact of the sewing needle standing alone by sticking an information booth so close to it. Yes, I'm glad to have an Information Booth ~ quite helpful. But couldn't the planners have given some attention to the aesthetics? Couldn't they have respected the Sculpture of a Sewing Needle that was so much a part of NYC's development?

I was hired to draw 8 people on one large Paper at a Bridal Shower. Haven't done that in a while, so I decided to practice it tonight.
I picked a few photos at random from my blog ~ just the first few photos I came across that might look like they're the same age as the women that I will be drawing at the Shower.
Didn't finish this picture, but I feel confident that I will be able to handle the event.
