Sometimes I feel intrigued by the people I draw. Who are they? Perhaps they remind me of my cousins? But I don't know my cousins very well either. Just a feel of them, an inigma. There are people out there. I might think I know what' they're like, what they're interested in, what drives them, but I don't really. I don't really know them. I just look at them. And wonder. Who are these people?

Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes in a bar? Here I was hired to draw the employees at a bar's business meeting. Started 12 noon. Everyone had to try all the different kinds of wines so they would be able to make recommendations to their customers. Wine merchants were also there ~ to teach the employees stories and backgrounds about the wines. It looked exhausting.

Big Snowstorm. School closings. I shoveled my car out yet again. 2014 sure has been Snowy in New York.
The night that I drew these pictures of the customers that came into the Vine Wine Bar in Merrick, I was just hoping that the restaurant would have customers show up. They had already advertised that I was going to be there to draw Caricatures, and I wanted to do a good job for the venue. But I can't do very much if nobody shows up.
Whew ~ People did come out in this weather. The Vine Wine Bar is a classy establishment. Soft music, magnificent food (including chocolate fonduuuuuuuuue), a huge selection of alcoholic beverages absolutely lining the romantic setting, attentive service ~ actually a beautiful place to cozy up after this long snowy day.
