As I promised ~ in the recent post of March 22, 2022 ~ I'll tell you my 2 ideas that I didn't follow through on while drawing this FASHION SKETCH. CLICK ON THE MP4 LINK BELOW to watch it, and you will see the ideas pass by quickly.

You will see a squiggly (triple?quadruple?) hourglass ideas in the predraw. I considered drawing an undulating picture with that, but I decided to stay with my original idea of one tight hold near the ankles.

And for quite a while, you will see a mermaid tail in the (water) background. Before starting this drawing, I considered drawing the bride as a Mermaid to play with the design of the Dress. But I decided to stick with my idea of one tight hold near the ankles. So while I was drawing it, I realized that I could give a hint about the mermaid idea by throwing the mermaid tail into the background.............Hmmmm, I decided not to do that because it was taking away from the glamorous feel of the picture.

So many ideas. And Artist has to make Choices in order to make a clear statement.

I felt so happy to receive the following Email from the Wedding Client who received the recent 2 Gift Fashion Sketches. Well, who was to receive them. So far, she only received the Digitally drawn Fashion Sketch. Here's what she wrote:

Aw Alison I love it - thank you so much!!! Such a nice Valentine's surprise :-) the ipad sketch is great, I can see the different ideas you tried -so cool!

Looking forward to getting the sketch the mail!!!

Thank you again for making our wedding so special!!!!!!

My client sent me more reference photos from her Wedding. So I could design a Gift FASHION SKETCH for them After the Wedding ~ to capture the feel of the evening.

So many choices to make. So many moments. So many interpretations.

I drew the first happy Wedding Picture directly on the paper, and mailed it to my client through the Post Office. That should have been finished with the project. But......

Looking at it until I got around to packaging it up, I wondered..... why am I always accentuating the bottom-flair of her Wedding dress? If you didn't know that it was starting at her knees, it might be interpretted as a skirt that started at the waist. That's not right....... I wonder what the Exaggerated FASHION SKETCH would look like if I exaggerated how that bottom part of her dress restricts movement ~ by gathering it right down at her feet.... I know what it's like to wear a straight skirt.....

So I drew a 2nd Gift FASHION SKETCH. This time on the IPad. If you click on the mp4 link below, you can see the process.

Experienced. Fun. Great Artwork. Alison's worked at famous venues, including Carnegie Hall and Sardi's. As well as Restaurants and and Homes.

Alison's esketches are drawn on IPad and printed on 4x6 paper so Guests can take the Caricatures home with them.

If desired, Guests can watch their friends being drawn. Always fascinating to be surprised by the fantastic Artwork. And they not only see what is drawn, but they can also see how it's done ~ they can see what the Artist is doing. For Traditional Media, they can see the Artist's approach and what tools she chooses. For e-Sketches, they can see how the Artist handles Layers, Selections, Brushes, Tools, etc. Yes fascinating. Fantastic.
