I don't like Dummying Down, but I'm willing to develop it. So I tried it today. Redrawing Caricatures that I previously drew just fine at Parties. I used a completely different Approach than I usually do. I tried to catch the fill-in-the-blanks stuff that I see some artists do when they are drawing beside me at a #Party.

These dulled out drawings actually do look like some of the stuff that I see drawn by other people. I feel like I could develop it more ~ to make mine look like the better pictures from that genre, but when I spend my time reinventing my wheel, I feel like I might lose my edge for doing the Exaggerated Caricatures that really are the better Artwork.

I have to take a break from it for now. I would Not want to lose my edge.

And here are some of the Caricatures from the Chart exhibited in a different way. To compare them. Hmmmm.... Sometimes the different styles have more to do with my Appraoch than with what the finished pictures actually Look like. Sometimes. Because I don't worry about how the picture is going to come out. I just Do it.

Here are a few of the Names that I drew at a recent Party. I just know that the girls are going to feel special to have them.

One type of Artwork affects the other. Since I'm hired for several different types of Party Art, it's great that I have to switch back and forth ~ depending on who orders what. There's Caricatures on Paper, Caricatures on Paper with Mats, Fashion Sketches, Fashion Sketches with Mats, Digital Caricatures, and Graffiti Words.

Now it's back to Graffiti Words for me. I'm constantly impressed by how Poetic pictures of Words can be. It adds so much to the Words that I bestow upon my Client's Party Guests

I am developing a great Happy Party style for my Caricatures. In transition, and feeling quite Successful. Here's today's journey. I was making New Caricatures based on photos of people that I previously Caricatured. btw, the people that I put together in today's drawings don't necessarily know each other. I just chose photos at random ~ to practice Group Caricatures:

Ready to jump in. I remembered how great it felt for the pictures to just pour out for the past few days. No Predraw. But I didn't think about the size for the first face I drew. I didn't leave room for the other two that I planned to put into the picture. Aghk. I couldn't wait to finish. Pushing it. I'm just going to

Tried it again. Planning to size them 'evenly. But egads, What happened here:

Sized evenly. Decent Caricatures. But meaningless empty space on the paper:

This time, I gave in to a Predraw. Just a Litl bit of a Predraw:

I really should call it a night. But once more. One more group Caricature. It came out alright:

Tried it Again. I love it! This is the New Style I want to develop. Such a happy picture. If these people happened to be a family, they would have loved to have such a unique picture:

I have transitioned. I can develop this new style.

But how to apply today's studies to my Party Performance?

I'm figuring that I would Not use a predraw for One Or Two Faces on a page. But I Would use that slight amount of placement predraw for Three Or More Faces on a page.

and of course, it would be best if I draw in the style that is working at that moment. Gotta be in a Zone to draw well. If I'm hoping to use this style when I'm 'On', perhaps it would be a good idea to do a few warm-up pictures Before I go in to an Event.
