Oh yes. This will be Fun. I haven't done Fashion Sketches in a while, so I felt like it would be a good idea to refresh my approach before a Fashion Sketch gig that will be coming up soon.

I'm going to try to show you how the Glitter Tattoos can flow around a body if they're done Freehand. Stencils are too limiting.

Note: I love how they stay on. Sometimes more than a week. Even though they get wet when swimming and showering.

My Agent recently asked if I could do something New. LIVE PARTY PAINTINGS ! What that is is that I just set up my Oil Paints at a Party, and spend the contracted time painting One Large Canvas that represents the Party.

I'd enjoy that very much. My Agent needed Samples of my alla-prima style of Oil Painting. I sent here these ~ paintings that I'd made back when I was Teaching Oil Painting.

I made the following three paintings as demonstrations on the first day of some semesters:

I made the following painting at a Street Fair. It got people to stop at my exhibit because they liked the entertainment part of watching ~ apparently that's why my Agent wants to offered it to her Client. This one was the view outside of the park.

The following painting is just a mishmosh of all sorts of things that I was showing my students. Back when I was teaching, I would keep a 6' canvas on the wall ~ so I could quickly show whatever it was that I was trying to explain to different students. (I never painted on their paintings). This is the only one I still had around.

I'm looking forward to the Upcoming Event ~ Party Painting! It's really fun. And I can do a good job of it. But I explained to my Agent that it's not worth my while to take any jobs if I'd have to pay for people's clothing, walls, and furnishings. Not that I ever left paint stains, but it is a possibility. So she must get a paper in writing in which the Client agrees to take responsibility for any messes or health concerns.

Note: And as always,there is a kill-fee for events that are canceled for Any reason, including Weather.

I'm amazed at what comes out of me when I draw at Parties. Sometimes because I'm surprised by some Excellent Artwork that just comes out. This time just because the pictures actually look alright even though my client was practically asking me to draw blindfolded with my hands tied behind my back (well, I know I'm Exaggerating ~ Lol ~ Am I allowed to do that in describing my experiences because Caricature means exaggeration? ).

I feel confident that she had the Bat Mitzvah she wanted. I feel comfortable to see that I had the ability to help that happen. Even though I was not allowed to set up in a place where I could plug in my lights. Even though I had to incorporate a logo with the words chosen by my client: "A Day in the Life of Emily" (Isn't that misleading? Would the pictures be interpreted as though each different person was Named Emily?). Even though I had to make the mats a different color than what i usually like for my style of artwork. Even though I had to ascertain the name/spelling of each person drawn while very loud music was played. Even though I had to include hobby - - drawing things that were not being done at that Party...... And she wanted me to do all that Faster than I usually draw just the Face. Hmmmm

I barely had time to look at what I was drawing. Just keep moving moving. Then, when I could see the Caricatures 'the morning after', whew. The Peace that comes after all the Party Excitement feels good.

Note: Logos stabilize the Party Favours. I print up whatever the client asks, but the best logo designs are Simple and To The Point. A label that does not interfere with the picture. Things like:

(Name) and (Name)'s Wedding Date

or Had Fun at (Name)'s First Birthday Party

or Fine Art from (Name)'s Sweet 16 Date

In this case, the client asked for "A Day in the Life of Emily". That complicated the pictures because I had to clarify that each picture was not a picture of Emily. So I had to Write something about the person who was in the picture, including His/Her Name.
