I wanted to feel more in control of whether I'm drawing Exaggerated Caricatures Or Tame Caricatures. There usually isn't enough time to Control anything during a Party, but I felt like I might have a little more Control if I look into it on my Time Off.

So I took a few photos at random from other posts on this website. Even though the Caricatures that I had drawn At the Events were fine, yes very fine, I wanted to see what would happen if I decided ahead of time whether to draw Tamely or Exaggerated. I'm posting them here so I can see them all together and try to make sense out of the experience:

Hmmmm... What I see from this experience is that it's all good. As long as I'm seriously into the drawing, it's interesting to see what comes out. And hmmmm... I would like to check out furtherly exaggerating stuff. Like ~ don't stop at one or two exaggerations, but exaggerate Everything. Not sure how that would go over at an Event though. I feel like people usually want to see something that looks something like a Face when I'm hired to draw 'Faces' lol. Aaaannndd... perhaps to dull down even more with the Tame Caricatures. Like how simple/garbage can I take it to ~ and Then to figure out how to turn That into a good picture from That point. It's all good. I love Artwork. I love to see what I can do in a picture.

Aaaaand... I was reminded about how much I love to draw on the IPad. I hope to play around with That some more too.

Post Script ~ Or am I? Am I hired to draw Faces? Oooor, and this is what it really is ~ I am hired to draw Caricatures. Just because some people think that 'Caricatures' means 'Faces' doesn't make it true.

Ah! Oh! AAAAhhh! EEEE! I couldn't believe it! Egads. O My. Oh Oh. I got to my gig this evening ~ at a Bowling Alley ~ so you can imagine how dark it was ~ well actually this one was Dark, but not nearly as dark as Some bowling alley gigs. And my Client took that into consideration! She showed up with a light for me, and I was told to set up right next to an outlet to use it. All Right!

But Wow! Blow me away! I felt knocked for a loop. Like How did this Happen?? I am Sooo Blessed! I've been feeling overwhelmed about Lighting All Week ~ and then This happens.

Who woulda thunk it, but my Client took out This Light!

I felt bowled over. I expressed my delight, and the Client told me that she understood. Because, and now Who Woulda Thunk it!, Because they're a Broadcasting Company! Oh.

Btw ~ you can see just how Wonderful her Big Professional Light is. In the forefront of the photo is a beige Chair. In front of the light that is directed by the umbrella. Pretty accurately described. But a couple of feet behind that are 2 more Chairs. They look dark gray in the photo, but they were really beige ~ just like the one in the forefront. But it isn't accurately described in the photo Because It's Behind the Umbrella.

The Only Photo that Correctly Shows is the one that was done on Small Paper that could be Scanned on my Flatbed Printer. That won't work when I take Photos of my Larger Pictures with my Phone. Which is so sensitive that it picks up the Color of the Ambient Lighting in the Room. It feels like a problem

This is a great Caricature. I know what I'm doing.

But the agony to keep on top of it ~ to stay in shape ~ to keep the energy in my Artwork. I'm writing this post to show you what goes on behind the scenes. The sort of stuff I do Before I get to yet another Party, and still be thrilled to be drawing there. I keep my interest alive by Enjoying Artwork all the time ~ Feels like I never run out of new ideas.

Tonight I got the idea to work intermittently with the Marker or the Color Stick. Instead of what is usually done in which we draw the Outline with the Marker, and Then we go back into it with the Color Stick. I thought I would be able to affect the Emphasis this way.

But as usual, when I'm studying One Aspect of Drawing, One Idea, something else drops. Struggle, struggle, struggle, ooooooo ~ Then I was able to Let Go. And Enjoy Drawing ~ regardless of whether I felt like using Marker or Color Stick. Nothing boring here
