Oh this lady was having Fun at the Party. I usually try to draw everyone once before I would draw anyone a second time, but this Party was okay about it. So some people were drawn more than once. I particularly like how some people choose to make someone else feel very special ~ by asking to be drawn together in a group. A little more difficult for the Artist to pull off, but sooooo worth it:

Here are three pictures that I drew from the same one face that I just found on the web. They are all usable. They are all correct. But one is better than another. The first one shows

a caricature

the answers, but not very good. You'll see what the boy looks like. Pink cheeks, big lower lip, long hair covering big sad eyes, etc. The picture could be used as a cartoon. But it's so simple. Not hightly evolved. A little stiff. Not expressive enough:

The second one is much better. The hair still covers the eyes ~ I thought I wanted to emphasize that for this boy. The pinkness of his very pink cheeks doesn't get lost. The mouth is saying more. I might have been satisfied with it. But I thought it needed a little background. Added in that shape behind his head, and eeeks, whatever I was doing was ruined:

The third one is the good one. Useable. Looks even better in person. Because here I made a very important decision. Yes, the boy had long bangs which I could choose to emphasize by making them even longer to cover his eyes. The long bangs was the first thing I had noticed, and that is a valid Caricature choice. For some faces. But in this case, it was not a good idea to make the bangs so long that they covered the eyes. Because the big round eyes was a very important part of what I was seeing on this boy's expression. (I am called Caricature Express.) So I showed the large amount of hair, made it big, but did not place it in such as way as to cover the eyes. Certainly Not to say that we must never cover the eyes with the hair, but in this case, it didn't work well enough. The third picture is the best one:

Here's a Caricature from an Event for honoring the Staff at an Assisted Living Facility. Such an important job. It's good that they had such good attitudes. We laughed and had fun:

Here's a clear example of how a Professional Artist might seem involved in agendas that she's not personally involved with. Here's a small preview of an intense Commission to draw a Coloring Book for a client who did seem to have a Political Agenda. I guess.

I don't have time to decide on the veracity of his agenda any more than I have the ability to ascertain whether a Guest of Honor is worthy of honor at my Party Gigs ~ Where I try to draw the Guest of Honor (and all the other guests) in a Positive Light. Because that's what I'm paid for.

I just showed a few of the pages here ~ because my client wants to sell the Coloring Books. And I smashed the word "Copyrighted" over each picture here because my Client plans on selling them. There are lots of other places drawn ~ like Tennessee, Washington DC, South Dakota, Las Vegas and more......I guess you'd have to buy the Coloring Book from Darrell Banks if you want to see them.

I'm a Professional Artist. I draw what my clients want drawn.

Note: I did not design the Character. I did not write the Story. I just followed my Client's instructions. I did have to make his wildly detailed ideas all come together into a 'readable' picture.

My own idea about Coloring Books is that they should have very little on each page ~ so people could add their own Artwork with Crayons. I would not have chosen so much details ~ but that does seem to be what most clients do. They get excited and dream up more and more stuff for me to include in the pictures. As though more is better. Still, this Adult Coloring Book worked great ~ I couldn't wait to get to Coloring it. Colored Pencils worked best. Or Coloring on the IPad.
