What a fun lady. She just got married, just got her first little apartment, and wanted to have murals painted all over the place so they could really 'own' their own space. We discussed her specific ideas, and I tried out the acrylic paints that I like to use ~ so we would feel sure that it would work ~ before I got started on my client's huge projects.

I was just going to make a little mark in an out-of-the-way corner of the room, but my client gave me the go-ahead when I said that it's fun to play with the paint strokes. So I freely let the paint flow-and-move as I made this little sample in the corner of the room. My client even titled it. She called it "The Corner of my Eye". Isn't that cute?

I especially like when I'm surprised by my reflection in a photo.

I don't know how this got started, but people have been pouring Ice Water on their heads to raise awareness or funds for fighting ALS, a very serious disease.

So here I was, hired to draw Caricatures at this Block Party, when they started doing that right behind me. It was all I could do to keep my attention on my drawings (I set up my area in such a way that our Guests could see the Ice-Water activity. That means that my back was to it. So I could see the person I was drawing.)

Exciting. I imagine it's quite an experience.

A Special Day, here are some of the pictures that I drew:

Time off. I was just perusing the internet, listening to some songs that I'm interested in. Feeling excited about a new one coming out from 'in Exile' at dspacer.com , I scribbled out this little sketch while listening to it. Just doodling.

The name of the song that captivated me was "Captivated by My Love". It speaks to me of the man who wrote it. It speaks to me about real Music and Art. It speaks to me about Love.

I can't believe that I had described my picture as dreamy. (See my post from a few days ago.) Because it then turned out Just the way the lady responded. She kept repeating "Is this really happening?" And "It feels like a dream." And "Am I dreaming?" She was so excited. I felt their Joy. The Marriage Proposal was Wow.

Here's what happened:

The woman seemed to have a mind of her own. She didn't want to go where we had arranged, and she started making herself comfortable elsewhere in the Park. Lol ~ Client texted me. So the scene was just moved. We brought the experience to her. She responded. Wow ~ Such Joy! What a good place to be. What a good experience:

I wish I had the time to photograph her very first reaction, but I was busy as the Artist. I was making the experience happen.

When I was 'out of the scene', I did manage to get these photos. Not a professional Photographer, so it's not my photography that makes these photos so fantastic ~ It's just Them. My clients. So much care and love and togetherness and happiness. Ahhh ~ Romance. It's such a blessing that I can enable this sort of event:

When I'm involved with my clients like this, I really feel Love for them. So I felt inspired to make them a gift while they went off for their picnic. I tried to see the Park scene beautifully for them and I created a little picture of the area. Of course, I blocked out thengagementeir names before I posted it here:

And a few days after the event, still flying from it, I felt so happy to receive the following email from my client:

Alison, I cannot begin to thank you enough for making our engagement so memorable. Your willingness to please, artistic talents, and superb service far exceed expectations. Thank You again and (name) still is in shock :) Go you! Thank You again, -(Name)

Being part of the good things in life. Making them happen for us. So much more fun than getting bogged down with the problems.

As my own husband says, "If we were down to our last few dollars, I'd buy you flowers with them." (Yes, he's also bought me flowers while we've been earning our living)
