I understand why a client would want to include an absentee-guest in her heart, but I don't feel like it's the best Party Entertainment. I feel like we have to give attention to the people we are with, even though others might be in our hearts.
But there I was ~ My client's request that I draw from this photo of a girl who could not attend the party. And I'm so glad it worked out well this time. I found litl snippets of alone-time when I could focus on the photo. And I was able to see the Caricature through the photo quickly:

Such a nice group of kids. 10-year-old girl's Birthday Party. It's a great age.
I just wish we adults had more time to focus on them. To enjoy their openness.
Actually, I even wish we gave the children enough time to Enjoy this time of their lives. I didn't have to see it at the Party, but I know that there are a lot of demands on children these days.

Big Bat Mitzvah. Dressed up children. Magnificent venue. No expense spared. I particularly like when Clients order a Mats and a LOGO. SO THE GUESTS CAN REMEMBER WHICH PARTY THEY WERE AT. I can see just by glancing at these photos that they were drawn at Sabina's Bat Mitzvah. Because THIS PARTY ORDERED A LOGO TO BE PREPRINTED ONTO THE PAPERS BEFORE THE PARTY.
Following are some of the Caricatures that I drew at Sabina's Bat Mitzvah. Helping the Guests have Fun. Helping the Guests Party. And also giving them a PERSONALIZED KEEPSAKE TO REMEMBER BEING AT THIS PARTY.
This particular Party was exciting for me because I had drawn Sabina several times when she was a baby. Her Parents had framed those early Caricatures, so they remembered me when it was time to arrange for Sabina's Bat Mitzvah. It was great to see how that baby had grown soooo beautifully. To see some of the people that I had related to for just a few minutes so many years ago.
BTW: It is best to leave the design of the Mats and the design of the Logo up to the Artist. The Artist knows best what would not complicate her Picture Production during the event. ENTERTAINING at Parties is not the same as dreaming up ideas in the Studio.

There is beauty all around us. If intense people stop badgering me for a few minutes, I get a chance to See. There is beauty and sounds, peace and talent, songs and love all around us.
I have to spend a lot of time, gas, and patience to drive all over the place. Because I have to go wherever the Party is. Might as well Enjoy.
I stopped to photograph this sign. Created by some unknown person, the sign just There in the street. And to me, the passer-by, a gift of such beauty. It's breath-giving.
Is it a Picasso? Or perhaps a John Lennon? Or a stranger, I don't know. I am just enriched because it is in our world.
