It's a good thing I give attention to getting ready for my Events ahead of time. Tonight I drew a simple Caricature based on a photo from my website. Originally drawn with Markers at a Party, tonight I made a new drawing with the IPad. Because I have to be ready to run right in and start drawing at my 2nd Event tomorrow. It will be for Digital #Caricatures.

I used the regular template that I often use. But I felt so surprised with the Coloring Layer. I don't know why it was putting little dots all over the Colored areas. It didn't matter which Brush I used. I tried it with several different brushes ~ all had those unique White Dots. Looked intriguing this time, but I would feel frustrated if I couldn't control that at tomorrow's #Party. So I will go make a New Template now.

Time for a new one anyway. I've really simplified since I first made that template, and I don't use most of it these days anyway.

btw, hmmmm...... I only drew Yellow Teeth alone in my Studio. I would Never do that at a Party. Even though, objectively looking at Colors, Everyone's teeth are offwhite ~ usually in the Yellow-family. Some darker than others. (ok ~ a few of you have such White Teeth that they look blue). Anyway, it's curious that I cannot draw Yellow Teeth without insulting people. And I even feel like it looks bright and golden And Nice in this Caricature.

I am tired of Low-Self-Esteem People telling me not to draw whatever attribute it is that They Do Have. I do Not want to proliferate the assumption that What Those People Look Like is Not good.

If I agree to draw them Incorrectly, it feels like I am agreeing that they really look awful. It feels like I am continuing to tell them (and the rest of the world) that it is not good to look the way that That Particular Person knows she looks.

No matter what I draw, the Low-Self-Esteem Person knows that he has the so-called Bad-Attribute that he told me not to draw. All sorts of supposedly bad attributes. Which I am Not going to list here. Because I do Not want this to continue. I want to be part of the solution, and not part of the problem. You look Fine!

Confident People know that whatever they look like is Fine. It is what a human being is supposed to look like. Looks are not that important, but it could be Fun, for a few minutes, to play around with that image. Squash and Stretch is the name of the game for Caricature Artists. Making big things bigger, small things smaller, round things rounder..... Just a game. Don't take it so seriously.

I hope that my Caricatures show people looking Wonderful. With All the Attributes that they do have. I hope that they are Happy with themselves. I want to convince each one of them that they Are beautiful. That they do not have to Change, Hide, Camoflage...... some people even get Operations! It's so sad if they live their whole lives thinking they are not good enough just the way they are.

We all look different than anyone else. We can recognize people because Each One of us is Unique.

Getting ready for tomorrow'sEvent (that would be Today already). I figured I would draw a Plain Direct #Caricature because I will be working with other Artists who kinda 'fill in the blanks'. I used a photo from my website as reference ~ a woman I had previously drawn At a Party.

No predraw. No fuss. No thinking. No jumping in to the interaction. Takin it easy.

But there's always something that catches me. This time, I figured I would pay more attention to Values when I was Coloring it. I wanted everything Colored so the Whites would stand out as White. Here's what I learned from my experience:

1. You don't have to work so hard at an Event. They want it Quick, and my regular Color Application would have been fine. Would have been much Quicker. Even though it wouldn't have empahsized the Whiteness of the Whites.
2. Egads ~ I went for something unusual with the 'Eyes'. I wanted to show the Darkness that I see in the reference photo. Not a good idea. It looked awful. But the show must go on. So what did I do? What did I have here? Oh, just a Wite-Out Roller. That worked.
3. Never Never ever Color the Teeth with the skin-color. Even though I used a lighter touch with it on the teeth. No.
4. And the rest was all fine. I didn't have to Size it specifically for Her attributes. I could just fit in whatever fits in. Probably nobody can tell if I am IN the experience or if I am jus dwawing a pichur. So I can change my intensity based on whatever I feel like doing. For myself.
