Just warming up for tomorrow's Party. I used some random photos that I found on the internet. Of 4-year-old girls.
Good thing that I did. Because my first inclination was that my client might be wanting 'pretty' Caricatures (whatever That is ~ I just take it to mean sort of fill in the blanks ~ face with eyes, nose, mouth, hair). They came out okay.
But not as much Fun as a real Artist's interpretation. Based on feeling.
Here are 2 my first 2 warm-ups. First attempt at each one was me trying to be 'tame'. Then I played around with an aspect of what I was looking at. Redrew each picture Much Better. Now we're having Fun with Art. Play.
Art is Not supposed to be work. Artwork makes no sense. It's Either Art, OR it is Work. Can't be both.

There is No bad way to look. People should appreciate who they are. If they have attributes that they Think are unattractie, they believe that negativity inside themselves even if we don't draw it. They believe that negativity inside themselves even if we pretend we're not seeing what they know they see in the mirror.
It is more helpful to tell them that their reality IS beautiful.
It is more helpful to shed the stupidity that we've been 'fed'.
It is more helpful to be thrilled with the wonderful people that we see.
As a Caricature Artist, I especially like when I am given free reign to encourage people to be Confident with how they really look. Please don't ask me to agree with your negativity

when needed. These Caricatures are lovely. Not as exciting as the more Exaggerated style that I've successfully developed, but it does feel good to simply Do what it is that I am good at doing.
I feel particularly pleased with these because I feel like I'm finally developing more control in being able to switch from My Exaggerated Style to My Tame Style. These Tame Black/White Caricatures were drawn immediately after drawing the Exaggerated ones that are in the previous post here.
