Just by adding a Professional Party Artist to the mix ~ you've not only given your Guests something Unique, but you've also given them a 'Conversation Starter' aaaannnnd a boost that will encourage them to 'Remember Your Celebration even After they leave the Party. Sometimes even Years After your Party. Each Party is Unique ~ The type of Experience you offer Your Guests depends on which Images you offer. Just like you can choose a Pizza Party Or an Elegant Dinner Party, you can also choose Fun CARICATURES Or Insightful CALLIGRAPHY/GRAFFITI WORDS/NAMES, etc. It's more internalized by the Guests when the Party Image becomes part of their own image. The BALLOONS ~ so much a part of a Party ~ well, they don't last as long. But when they're created On the Spot ~ During the Party ~ it's so much more interactive than just putting up a few BALLOONS. When the BALLOONS are created right At the Party, the Guests will feel like they're more than just decorations. Your Guests will feel like they are holding Party in their hands. And afterwards ~ we are intrigued to ask people where they've been if we see them walking home with the Party Balloons. Which, well, they only last as long as they will last. It's hard to do, but I can do it.

Tonight I wanted to hone my clarification between Tame Caricatures and Exaggerated Caricatures. I'm really developing a very good ability to control this. I set out to draw Tame Caricatures, and they stayed that way. I drew Tame Caricatures. Based on some Photos that I had taken at Events.

But they were all Front Views. When we're involved with people, they have a habit of turning straight toward us. I wondered if I could draw 3/4 view Caricatures even if a person was looking directly at me. It's hard ~ takes a little more time and effort if the Guest doesn't sit in 3/4 view when I want to draw 3/4 view. But I can do it!

Hmmm..... Sometimes the Caricature looks better in the Front View, and sometimes it looks better in the 3/4 View. I feel like the best way to use this skill (if I have the nerve to do it at a Party) ~ is to choose the easiest way to get a good Caricature. I would only choose to draw a Different View than the one that I actually see ~ If I don't feel like the Front View has anything interesting in it. Or if I'm getting tired of drawing Front Views.

I'll frequently make Changes at intervals throughout the Event to keep myself interested. Because if the Artist isn't interested in what she's drawing, usually nobody else will be either. This could be just one more of the many different things that I change up when needed.

I wanted to feel more in control of whether I'm drawing Exaggerated Caricatures Or Tame Caricatures. There usually isn't enough time to Control anything during a Party, but I felt like I might have a little more Control if I look into it on my Time Off.

So I took a few photos at random from other posts on this website. Even though the Caricatures that I had drawn At the Events were fine, yes very fine, I wanted to see what would happen if I decided ahead of time whether to draw Tamely or Exaggerated. I'm posting them here so I can see them all together and try to make sense out of the experience:

Hmmmm... What I see from this experience is that it's all good. As long as I'm seriously into the drawing, it's interesting to see what comes out. And hmmmm... I would like to check out furtherly exaggerating stuff. Like ~ don't stop at one or two exaggerations, but exaggerate Everything. Not sure how that would go over at an Event though. I feel like people usually want to see something that looks something like a Face when I'm hired to draw 'Faces' lol. Aaaannndd... perhaps to dull down even more with the Tame Caricatures. Like how simple/garbage can I take it to ~ and Then to figure out how to turn That into a good picture from That point. It's all good. I love Artwork. I love to see what I can do in a picture.

Aaaaand... I was reminded about how much I love to draw on the IPad. I hope to play around with That some more too.

Post Script ~ Or am I? Am I hired to draw Faces? Oooor, and this is what it really is ~ I am hired to draw Caricatures. Just because some people think that 'Caricatures' means 'Faces' doesn't make it true.

I didn't feel like this Client took full advantage of the Caricature Entertainment she ordered. She put her Entertainment into a Dark Corner of the room? Doesn't make sense to me to do that ~ but she still had a Successful Party. Full of people who felt happy to be there. I also got some Great Reactions to these Caricatures, but I couldn't photograph the Reactions with the Ipad because the Reactions came when the Guests were looking at their Caricatures on it.

It was Dark. I happily had No problem seeing what I was drawing on the IPad because it's all lit up, but it felt stressful to actually see Who I was drawing. The Lights that I brought definitely helped, but not really enough. There was no good place to attach them in the Very Small Space. They told me to Set Up in a Corner behind the Photo Booth. With my Back to the Wall so nobody could see the Drawing develop......

When a Caricature was finished, looking just like the Guests, I felt as surprised and thrilled as the Guests felt. Because I could barely see them. Every Event is Different ~ Just like Every Person is Different. I love the different Experiences
