We have to take chances when we make Artwork. Stopping just because the picture is Fine ~ even if we want to try Something Else ~ that would feel like I was wasting my time.
Here, my marker was just moving during Time Off. I was watching the new TV series, The Peripheral. I drew this character from The Peripheral just to relax. I decided to add "Virtual Reality" glasses to the Caricature because I have an upcoming aghk Body/Hobby gig coming up. It felt like Virtual Reality glasses are more likely to be requested than the head-unit that they were using in this show.
My first idea was to keep only the glasses area clear. As though the Virtual Reality stuff was Clearer (more real) than the Real stuff.
Then I decided to darken the underside of the glasses. Thinking that perhaps.......
Glad I took a photo of it Before I decided to add color to the Virtual Reality glasses. Because that ruined my picture.

I drew 6 Caricatures based on the Same Random Reference Photo. One of the 2 Excellent Caricatures if my Favorite. One Caricature is 'eh'. And the other 3 Caricatures are ok.
I wonder if you can tell which is which. I wonder if you can tell which 2 are Excellent Art, and which one is blah Hack Stuff

I agreed to make some numbers on a slate for a friend. She wants to make a mosaic over it. Felt like an easy request ~ I imagined using a flat paintbrush with Gesso that sticks to everything. Big Solid Block Numbers.
But when it came time to do the project, she said she just wanted me to draw Bubble Numbers with a Sharpie. Oh! That makes sense ~ there's no telling how the glue and the grout would work on gesso.
But what to draw? Now I had to revisualize. Now it felt like a job.
I would have pointed that out to her, but it felt wrong. She is a good friend, and it does sound like a quick little thing to do.
So I ended up designing the sort of numbers that would be right. In my free time. I came up with these, so I'll be ready for whatever numbers she wants.
I don't mind having to spend my time on that. It just keeps me on my toes in case it feels right to use Numbers at my next Graffiti Party:
