I don't usually focus on what type of fabric I'm drawing. Unless it's something over-the-top noticeable, it has no place in a Quick Party Picture. But sometimes..... sometimes the fabric does make a statement. So I have to feel comfortable drawing the fabric in order to Exaggerate the fabric.
Time off today, I drew some basic types of fabrics. I hope I remember to go to extremes when drawing Shiny Fabrics ~ Yes blacks and whites. I hope I find time to work with my (which ones are Transparent?) Markers to get a better expression of Transparent Fabrics. And I hope I remember to use only a little bit of contrast when drawing Thick Fabrics like wool or flannel. Maybe I'll also add a thickness dimension when drawing an extremely noticeably thick fabric.

Whatever a person wears ~ tells a lot about that person. Whether it be their choice of how they want to represent themselves ~ or if it be their circumstances os what is available for them.... So I feel fascinated to draw whatever it is that they are wearing. Usually, that is Not 'high fashion', by which I mean what we might see in a Fashion Magazine such as Vogue.
Still.... it is a special kind of fun for the artist when people wear 'fashions'. Fancy clothes. Whatever you want to call it. What I mean is when they get dressed up:

I was sitting in the car ~ eating a snack (lunch?) ~ just staring at it.
What is it? Is it a bear ~ sitting against a box? Is it the wide open mouth of a toothless snake? A cat sitting against a box? Something else?
